Pastor Tim delivered a three week series that asked what is the role of grace in our life. What we learned is that we need a Grace Period.

The Place Of Grace

The Space For Grace

The Pace of Grace

This is certainly an overlooked topic in our culture that is desperately in need of grace

SUNDAY NIGHT GROUPS

(All groups meet at the Church from 5-7pm every Sunday unless otherwise noted)

"Next Door Savior": Sunday's 5-7pm, Room 115

Leaders: Jerry & Dorothy Born (428-8870)

We will look at Jesus' other side - things such as His persistent, fearsome, and untamed love that we can find true joy and happiness in.

The daycare is safely locked by a controlled security system and only staff can open entrance doors, thus allowing only authorized people into the daycare premises. In addition we use a computerized check-in/check-out system to provide a secure pick up of children. Therefore you do not have to be concerned with the safety or security of your child.

Infants and Toddlers
The Pinnacle Curriculum promotes activities that stimulate growth and development that can be incorporated into the routines of the day. Encouraging an atmosphere of caring, love, and hugs, the Pinnacle Curriculum provides teachers with fun activities to do with little ones all day, even during the "Radical Routines" of eating and changing! The curriculum and lesson plans are designed for personalization, making it easy to craft the curriculum to meet your child's specific needs.

Twos, Threes, and Fours
For two-, three-, and four-year-olds, the Pinnacle Curriculum follows a daily activity format that matches the ever-changing needs of your rapidly developing child! Each age group has a separate curriculum that is specific to their educational and emotional needs, interests, and activity levels. Teachers have an abundance of ideas to enrich the learning centers in their classroom, providing many choices for your child to learn more about what he or she is interested in. Threes and Fours also use the BEKA Program to enhance their learning of the Bible at an age-appropriate level.

What If . . . - "Treasured" Adoptions

In the U.S., 137 million people claim to be Christians.

If only 1% of U.S. Christians made a choice to adopt one child, there would be no more children waiting to be adopted in the U.S. foster care system, and a million orphaned children from other countries would join an American family! Is God calling you to adopt?

Let Treasured Adoptions Ministry encourage you open your hearts and home to God's children!

This ministry meets the third Thursday of every month at the church at 5:30 p.m. (Note: Meetings have finished for 2009 and will resume in Jan. 2010.)

Goals of this Program: To educate on the need for and the "how-to" of adoption
To encourage adoption, and those involved
                                             To advocate for waiting children
To possibly, in the future, offer grants to help offset adoption costs

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. James 1:27 (NIV)

AND NOW YOUR 2009 CHURCH COMPETITIVE SOFTBALL CHAMPIONS, THE DECATUR 1ST CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE (GOD'S DISCIPLE'S)

This year's team was based on speed, power and good defense. We played hard but at the same time had fun. We really clicked well as a team, knowing that someone would always step up and make a play when we needed it. The key for our team was never getting down on ourselves or each other. We stayed positive throughout the season and that is why we went 23-0. The PERFECT season!

It's a hard thing to win the regular season and the tournament. We really had to fight hard to win the tournament. All the teams were out to get us. We didn't play very well our first 2 games but we fought hard to pull out the victory. We knocked off Mt. Zion and then Foursquare in order to reach the Championship game against Tabernacle. The championship was back and forth all game. We were down early but came back and made it close and in the last inning they scored a run to go up by 2. With 2 outs and 2 on we got a big hit from Ray McDannell to tie the game up. Two batters later, Bruce Jones got a base hit scoring the winning run. What a fun and exciting game it was. We stormed the field like we just won the World Series. Grown men acting like little kids haha! Hopefully next year we can defend our title.

We couldn't have had a perfect season without great fans who came out to cheer us on. I would say we averaged about 15-20 fans about every game. So we would like to say "thanks" to all of our fans.
